Assignments Portfolio

Here are my projects and assignments I completed while completing the internship. Some include narrations and story breakdowns for Audio Theater, episodes for IUP-TV's Public Pictures Theater which I was actively involved with for the majority of the internship experience, lecture narrations for the Basic Audio Production course and a podcast interview with retired IUP faculty member, Dr. Mary Beth Leidman.

Public Pictures Theater:

This script shows how I structured my introduction and outro of the episode, as well as talking points throughout.

This is my B-Roll for my introduction for "Plan 9 From Outer Space." The full episode will be aired during the 2020 fall semester on IUP-TV's "Public Pictures Theater." It was filmed on June 11, and the final episode was uploaded to the IUP-TV drive on June 25 to be added to the show's rotation.

Myself, Gram Drumgoole and Sean Mellor all worked on the script for this. We included introductions to segments, questions we would be asking panelists and trivia about the films we watched to bring up during the panel discussions.

This is the rough draft of the Horror Express and final panel discussions for the Horror Movie Marathon. It was filmed on July 2 and edited on July 6. After discussing with Gram and Sean, I found out I edited the wrong section and did the Horror Express instead of The Ape, but both took a look and said the editing on it was proficient.

Podcasting: Dr. Mary Beth Leidman

Myself, Gram Drumgoole and Sean Mellor interviewed Dr. Mary Beth Leidman for the SwooPodcast on June 24. During the podcast, we talked about her comedy scriptwriting class that she offered during the 2019-2020 school year. We also looked into her television and radio career and her novel that she co-authored.

Extra Opportunities: IUP COVID-19 Promotional Video

I also had the opportunity to participate in IUP's Division of Marketing and Communications' promotional video highlighting safety precautions for when students return to campus in the fall. I narrated and appeared in a few scenes. The shoot took two days and images used will be sent through news releases and promotional videos during the month of August 2020.

Audio Theater

These are my recorded lines for the character, Emile, in the audio theater production of Heart-Shaped Dollars. I volunteered for the role since I have prior acting experience with high school and community theater, and I wanted to expand my skills to possibly find a career in voice-acting.

In addition, I was tasked with finding sound effects and bed music for Heart-Shaped Dollars, due to my experience with producing radio promos and PSAs. Marques Ross, my audio theater supervisor said it was a good idea to incorporate my background with the production side of the piece.

Audio Class

For the audio class group, I was able to contribute by recording two qualities of sound, one good and one bad, for Sean Mellor's video lecture he was editing. This was to show how to record clean audio and what you should NOT do when recording an audio file.

These files were recorded on July 30, 2020.

In addition, I was tasked to record a full lecture for Module 4B - Inputs of Sound for the Basic Audio Production class. The class was moved online as COVID-19 caused IUP to adopt a hybrid method of attending classes for the Fall 2020 semester.

This was recorded on July 27, 2020.
